Global Mobile Advertising Industry Grows By 38 Percent In Q1

BuzzCity delivers eight billions ad impressions in Q1 2010 across 200 countries

Singapore - Apr 13, 2010 (PRN): BuzzCity, the global mobile media company, today releases the results of its Global Mobile Advertising Index for Q1 2010. The data, gathered over the three month period from January to March, reveals a Q-on-Q increase of 38 percent from the October to December period in 2009.

Indonesia, India, the United States and South Africa continued their dominance among the top five and were joined by Canada for the first time. The UK also demonstrated strong growth with approximately 230 million ads served over the three month period - an increase of 114% on the prior three months.

KF Lai, CEO of BuzzCity, said, “During Q1 a total of 32 markets each delivered monthly traffic in excess of 10 million impressions per month. This demonstrates the continued advertiser interest in mobile internet advertising and with many of the campaigns now being run through experienced agencies, we are starting to see a more constant and structured investment in the medium. We are also starting to observe a greater investment in mobile from brands outside the mobile content sector, most notably among operators.

“With the increase in affordable high-end phones and greater public awareness of the mobile web, 2010 has also driven a rise in the volume of global mobile traffic. This increase in volume and continued advertiser interest has meant publishers can expect better returns as a greater variety of advertisers get better acquainted with the media. This is a trend which we predict will continue to fuel the rise of the mobile advertising industry during 2010.”

The Global Mobile Advertising Index tracks activity across BuzzCity’s network including over 2000 publishers across the globe. The findings represent a measure of advertiser demand for mobile internet advertising.
